RE/MAX Realty Professionals History

Greenville’s Original RE/MAX was established by Broker/Owner Diane Wilson, and the first office opened in the Highland Office Park on Woodruff Road in 1985. No one in the area had ever heard of RE/MAX and the whole concept of 100% commission was new to this market. By April, 1986 we had recruited our first agent.

We expanded four times at the Highland Park location and we purchased a commercial lot on Pelham Road. Because agents were literally sitting in the halls and sharing offices when they desired a private office, a new office was planned and construction began. We moved into a beautiful new building that we designed in 1995.

In January of 2000, Milton Shockley joined Diane as a partner in the firm. In 2001 the office at 8 Pelham Road was full with only one small office vacant and we made the decision to move to the building at 600 Independence Blvd. We renovated the building which was virtually a shell and had it ready for occupancy and relocated in August of that year. This building offered great exposure facing 385 and a wide selection of office sizes for the agents.

In December of 2003, Century 21- Case and Associates and merged with us. We are still planning for growth. We have added many new services for FEATURED PROPERTIES and for our clients and customer over the last few years. We provide property management and appraisal services on site. We feel we have some of the most professional and dedicated agents, staff and ancillary professionals in the upstate and we stand ready to provide the highest and best service in all the venues offered.
